Hi everyone, I am thrilled to be here with you today.

I have a 12x12" pizza box that I decorated to share with you all, showcasing the Pebeo Studio Acrylics colour paints and the Catalyst wedges...

I began by applying some modelling paste through a stencil... a little difficult to see, but I just wanted to create a base texture...

I then used the Catalyst Contour C-81 with some Oriental Violet, Primary Cyan, Verdnese Green, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Studio Acrylics...

I swiped the wedge down the box, and repeated the process until it was all coloured...

Once this had dried, I applied some more modelling paste using the Catalyst Wedge W-02 to create some fabulous texture over the box.... 

 I was particularly careful to ensure not to apply the modelling paste to the stencilled area...

Once dry I sponged on some more of the Primary Cyan and the Verdnese Green onto the edges and the corners of the box...

 Next I used some of the Schmincke Tro-Col-Bronze Dry Gouache in Rich Gold.... As the name suggest this is a dry product, it is a powder... I mixed it with a little water and magic!! so lovely and rich...

     
I painted over the stencilled area... 

 doesn't it look fabulous....

 I also added a little to the corners and edges as well...

 I love it... love working with it... so easy to use and so effective...

 I am sharing a card I made using watercolour paints. 

Super simple and easy to draw your own image and paint it.

I started by die cutting some watercolour paper.

I sketched out some flowers with a pencil. 

I mixed Carmine and Prussian Blue to get this dark pink for the flowers in the middle,
and the for little blue flowers- Ultramarine and Black.

Using the size 3 brush I painted the flowers in the middle first.

Then the little blue flowers.

Then using permanent green I painted the flower stems and outlined leaves by

adding a little more water to the green to lighten the shade.

Now back to the flowers in the middle using brush 5/0

Add a little more texture in the middle of the flowers 

Then using more of the permanent green I coloured the leaves.

Then back to the middle to add the middle of the flowers with black using brush 5/0. 

Next adding texture to the leaves with permanent green and brush 5/0.

And then outlining the flowers in the middle with more pink.

Then your done!

Fabric 'Smoosh' Painting with Setacolor

Today I have a simple tutorial on how to make sweet little fabric squares using Pebeo Setacolor Fabric paints and, what I call, the 'smoosh' technique.

  The fabric for this project needs to be a fairly lightweight and at least 50% natural fibre OR use good old baby wipes. The brand I mention at the start of the video is lovely and thick and allows for plenty of 'smooshing'. 

My washing line has never looked so pretty!

  I love that we can use this technique to make duplicate prints while a piece is still wet...just add a little spray of water, overlay with another piece of fabric and 'smoosh' the paint in with a brayer (you could also use a rolling pin, a baron or any other rounded object). Just remember, the more prints you take from one piece, the paler the colours will become


  The resulting pretty fabrics can be used in a fabric collage, or sewn into bags or cut up and turned into embellishments...so many uses (see the video for other ideas)

NB. One point I'd like to make...the stain you see on my fingers is NOT from the Setacolor paints, but from a previous project. The Setacolor paint washes off the skin quite easily!

You could also quilt on it.

Meet Marta.....

I'm a freelance/contract illustrator and animator and have been in the industry for 11 years. I've worked in Childrens TV animated shows ("The Day my Butt went Psycho" was the last one I worked on) I recently did the character animation for a bank commercial. I am currently working on a couple of illustration contracts from home, after recent back to back studio work. I either work from home or different studios all over Melbourne. I have a boyfriend, live in the city area but may be moving to the country before the year is out, we shall see how things go. I've been creative ever since I was a kid and when I got older, I went and did Visual Arts at Monash University (majoring in painting) and got my Master of Animation and Interactive Media at RMIT. I have a daily blog : www.rabbittownanimator.com and I post pretty much everyday. My main weapons of choice (traditionally) are markers, fineliners, inks, brush pens, water colours and acrylics. Lately, I've been doing more ink and marker pieces. Check out the blog! I've been drawing cats lately.

So here is my Project today.  Using Mepxy Markers!

The materials and the suject matter.

Light colour first.  I used a "pale yellow".

Afterwards, I started doing some shades with a "lemon yellow".

A darker yellow with the "citrus" mepxy for the shadow.

For the spots, I used a "natural" coloured mepxy. 

A "light chocolate" colour was put on the top of the "natural" colour.

I finished defining the texture with a "chocolate" colour.

I finished off with some extra shading using the "natural" coloured mepxy.

Then tada!  Bananas!

A couple of nights ago, I wanted to just draw something for myself and something that I find relaxing.  For me, drawing still life is fun and relaxing so I drew these bananas.  It was good fun and I enjoy drawing organic things.  It got very positive feedback on facebook.  Maybe I should draw fruit more often!

Meet Cindy.....

Married to a wonderful man for 26 years... no human children, but we have always had fur babies... currently Cleopatra (a Russian blue kitty) and Henri (a Tonkinesse cross breed kitty).... but we are not just cat people... previously we had two Alaskan Malamutes (but we lost both a little while back - old age)
My job... I am very lucky to be able to teach scrapbooking and paper craft and do some design work for my a living... there is nothing better than loving what you do... and I love to teach...

I have been creative all my life, as a child I used to create anything and everything... I have evolved over the last ten years into doing more mixed media, altered art and paper craft ...
I am fortunate enough to have a studio room set up in our home... this is usually where I create.......
couldn't name my most favourite media... I love all types of surfaces and all types of media... I love to experiment with it all...
I love to create mixed media pieces, scrapbook layouts, canvas's and altered art pieces are my favourites, but I am starting to enjoy art journalling too...
I am definitely most creative at night.... often I don't start to create until after midnight... I have been known to get creating and not go to bed until 7 or 8am the next morning... I just loose track of time... 
I am inspired by everything around me... the colours, the shapes, the patterns, other crafty peeps... all of it...
A few years ago, I read an article about how to overcome blocked creativity... and I find that it works for me... the article said to just take a pen or brush or pastel... whatever you have in front of you and to start to put colour on paper and keep going... and surprisingly it has always worked for me....
Art is my everyday life, so I am very lucky... and with no kids, there is only my hubby to juggle..lol

Hi everyone, I am thrilled to be here with you today.

I have created an 8x8" watercolour canvas to share with you all, showcasing the Pebeo Studio Aquarelle watercolour paints...

I began by mixing up some modelling paste with various colours

I then applied the coloured modelling paste through my stencil

once the modelling paste was dry I could watercolour the base canvas

next up I added some stamping around the edge of the canvas and a stamped butterfly which was painted up with the Pebeo watercolours

I loved working with these wonderful watercolours.... they are deliciously transparent allowing great blending on my butterfly wings. this fabulous transparency also enabled me to create the 3D shadow under the butterfly

 for a finishing touch I added some Schmincke Rich Gold powder, it has a gouache binding medium, you just add water to get a fabulous shiny gold effect

 and finally the finished canvas...
